Blackpool boxer RP Davies has had his second change of opponent as he prepares to box in his home town.

Friday night’s bout at the Urban Village Resort in Blackpool is against Lithuanian Arvydas Trizno for an International Title, rather than the original substitute William Warburton.

Davies said: “This has hardly been ideal preparation, what with the number of opponents and the re-scheduling of the date, but it is a vital experience, as these things happen in boxing.”

“Not being sure of my opponent the week before my fight is not great, but it is just one of those things and I will have to get on with it.”

“As disappointing as this is, unfortunately this is boxing, and these things can happen.”

“I just have to ensure that I am mentally prepared for Friday night.”

“I am willing to fight anyone and I am confident of whomever I face, so in all honesty the opponent does not really matter to me.”

“What is important is I get in the ring on Friday, but on a good show, with a solid performance and get the right result to kick on.”

Davies continued: “One thing I do know is that the opponent will now likely be a tougher task than any of the other previous ones, but this should suit me well.”

“Aside from these issues, my camp has gone well and I feel fit and ready to go.”

“The two- week delay has just given me a little extra time to prepare and apply some extra finishing touches to the camp.”

Limited tickets are still available, with VIP ringside seats (including meal) are £70 and there are also standard seated tickets priced at £30. Tickets can be purchased by calling 07780962863, emailing info@rpdboxing.com or directly from Davies Boxing Gym, Brinwell Road, Blackpool.
